Boomers on up show increasing use of Internet search-"Pew Research Center"
Still not including boomers in your internet marketing? Then you're missing an affluent demo whose Internet activity grows incrementally. According to the article, "Pew: Older Generations Catching Up On Web" - today's OnLine Media Daily, http://ping.fm/YDTiO , Millennials (18-34) no longer dominate the Internet as they did in the past. With the popularity of search and email usage on the rise with all generations the gap is sharply closing. The study shows an increase in search activity in all age groups for healthcare, news, travel, online purchases and travel arrangements. Although the younger generation still out uses social networks, the study shows a steady incline in usage among the older generation with the sharpest climb in the 74 and up age group, with an increase of 16% since 2008. In this marketer's opinion, you will miss your turn if you continue to believe that Boomers (45-64), Silent Generations ( 65-73) and GI Generations (74+) are not tech savvy Internet users. Get on the bus and add a whole new target market to your potential customer base. Don't forget, this is an affluent market to tap into. Happy Holidays make your business soar.
